Small Update

Whats going on?
Well, for 8 months now i have had a summerjob and during that time i have constantly e-mailed and contacted game companies to see if theres any interest.
I contacted at the very least 10 companies whereas only half of them replied saying that they are not recruiting more people at the moment, i get the feeling that the industry got what it needs right now, unless you're a programmer.

However i am not giving up seeing as this is what i want to work with, even if its something else then a Gfx Artist on a game company.

At this moment i am still looking for a company who is interested to give me a shot, it would make me good in terms of evolving personally and be able to create better quality stuff, would be nice to see how a real company operates aswell.

The very same week i stopped working i started on a campaign for Left 4 Dead which will probably be ported to Left 4 Dead 2 when it arrives.
I enjoy that game but i think there are way too few custom materials in the campaigns being released and thus i took one of my favorite maps in a game and decided to give go at it at 100%

Have you ever played Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines?
Very few people have, however it has one of the most scariest moments in gaming history, the Ocean House Hotel, that is the first map of two i am working on.

This is a great opportunity for me, i get to remake these two maps for Left 4 Dead gameplay and at the same time work with 100+ custom models and textures which i have to do myself, right now it has been going really well as i tend to put at least 8 hours a day whenever i can.

If you are interested in the map i have uploaded some new WIP shots at the l4dmaps website;

Thanks for reading, i hope someday i can find a company to work at and be able to work with what i really want to do, i hope the industry turns soon so i can stop being unemployed :>
