Long time

no see!
Wow, was quite some time ago since my last update, as you can probably imagine there have been a lot happening since my last report.

First of all we had a 9 weeks project before we got our holiday this summer, my group was really nice in terms of people and we managed to develop a game that was not only good looking graphically but also fun to play as a LAN game with your friends.

Now, thats one thing, this Summer i got to working, just like any other Summer but this one was special since i now got my own apartment so most of the money i made went to the Rent, Food you name it.
Thinking of either upgrading my stationary or buying the best Dell XPS gaming laptop but i have yet to decide.

What else... well i start the education again on the 11th, which is next Monday.
Really looking forward to it and see what we get to do but most of all what company i will go to and practice during our 26 weeks of it!

While we are talking about game development i really start to wonder.
Yesterday i went to Gametrailers.com to see if there where any new videos i could look at, Baja had a new video about their AI and how it works in the game, really interesting video in my opinion.
The game looks good and the gameplay seems nice so far (since its not finished yet)

After i had seen this video i went down on the page to read the comments, i don't know about you but is 90% of the visitors on Gametrailers.com website retards?
No one seems to care about gameplay anymore, all i could read was "omg i wont buy this game because the graphics sucks" or "graphics looks like on ps2 just a little better".
Seems that these people should try and make their own game just to try it out and see what they want to focus on.

Now, i am not saying that you should have the worst graphics ever, you should have a good looking game but i am getting tired of people expecting "next-gen" graphics on every single new game that comes out.

While we are at it. how come no one complains about the graphics in Mirror's Edge?
I mean, its not really "next-gen" and still people aren't complaining.
Weird, not really, because Mirror's Edge is a breath of fresh air, presenting a new type of gameplay and the graphics still looks good, its style is clean but still really nice.

Oh and last but not least, people complaining about the graphics of games that obviously aren't aiming for it, STOP.
I mean, a game like Team Fortress 2, Battlefield Heroes (thats basicly taken from TF2) and other games that uses a sort of "cartoonish" theme to it looks good in ITS OWN WAY.
Don't expect the "next-gen" graphics in these games but they will look really damn awesome in their own way using the cartoon theme.

By the way, i actually updated my Models and Maps page for once :D
